Awards Criteria for the Best Government Initiative in MunicipalIT

The award in the category of best government initiative is open for all forms of governments including zonal, regional and local governments that use or support the use of ICT tools in regional municipalities, such as computerisation of municipalities for the purposes of increasing access, transparency, efficiency of administrative functions such as tracking and monitoring, billing of utility bills and e-Services to increase efficiency of the municipality as well as the end users. Projects nominated for best government initiative should contain inherent benchmarks of sustainability.

The evaluation criteria is based on quality of vision of the projects, services, past work and implementations of technologies for the empowerment of livelihoods. Besides, the soundness of technology being used, scalability and sustainability and finally impact made on the citizen’s life are criteria for evaluation.
