Awards Criteria for the Best project based on Open Source Platform
The award is open for all forms of government organisations, academic institutions, Non-governmental Organisations (NGOs), private organisations, self help groups etc., who have used free and open source platform or the ideas of the free software movement, in their projects that intentionally and significantly benefited at large. The award also recognises individual contributors who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, creativity, and collaboration in the development of free and open source software. The projects, which are promoting or advancing free software are also eligible for this award. Projects nominated in this category should bear in themselves a mark of sustainability.

- Efficacy of the initiative/project in terms of capacity building and endurance
