The award is to open for all
Non-Government Organisations (NGOs), Self Help Groups (SHGs) and community based groups who use Information, Communications and Technologies (ICTs) to support community, economic, educational, and social development, bridging the digital divide, promoting health issues, creating economic opportunities with the help of a telecentre model. Projects nominated for best NGO in telecentre should contain inherent benchmarks of sustainability.
The evaluation criteria is based on quality of vision of the projects, services, past work and implementations of technologies for the empowerment of livelihoods. Besides, the soundness of technology being used, scalability and sustainability and finally impact made on the citizen’s life are criteria for evaluation.

- Range of livelihoods who benefit from the initiative
- Flexibility of the initiative to be adopted for application elsewhere
- Geographical area covered
- Success of the initiative/project
- Positive impacts of the initiative/project on the livelihood of people
- Innovative use of ICT
- Efficacy of the initiative/project in terms of capacity building
- Entrepreneurial nature of the initiative and its approach
- Evidence of sustainability
