Introduction

How can eLearning methodologies, tools and solutions contribute to competitiveness and a different educational edge in India? What are the specific examples of how this is already happening at sectoral level? What training & education strategies including, upscaling, lifelong learning, competency driven education, open educational resources, etc should be promoted and adopted by the stakeholders in the education community? How can the ICT and education industry contribute and what types of partnerships are needed to drive adoption further? What kind of R & D in technology enhanced learning is required to contribute to employability and competitiveness? How education with ICTs can help to address the fast changing skills requirements on a large scale and hence create a more flexible and adaptable workforce?

Digital Learning India 2009, the 5th annual conference and exhibition organised by Centre for Science, Development and Media Studies and Elets Technomedia Pvt Ltd, will take a look at the current situation and outline desirable future developments in the field of ICTs enabled Education.
