Department of IT and Electronics, Government of Uttar Pradesh aims to use Information Technology as a vehicle for economic development and to create a high tech society with a high quality of life in Uttar Pradesh.

To harness the advantages offered by the State of Uttar Pradesh and to place it on the global map of I.T. as the new Silicon Valley of India, a proactive, responsive and action oriented I.T. Policy has been formulated. The objectives of the department are accelerated development of Information Technology Industry in the State and increase in both domestic and export earnings in the software and hardware sectors in I.T.; create a SMART Government, using I.T. for speedy, transparent accountable and efficient conduct of the government systems and services; encourage and accelerate the use of Information Technology in schools, colleges and educational institutions in the State; and bring I.T. within easy reach of the common man.

A Proactive new Information Technology Policy of Uttar Pradesh has been declared by the Government of Uttar Pradesh in 2004. The Department is actively facilitating the process as outlined by the policy.

The Directorate of Higher Education, NCT of Delhi was established in the year 1997 to promote higher and professional education in the entire capital region. Prior to this, the Directorate of Education of Govt. of NCT of Delhi was looking after Higher Education in addition to the school education (Secondary and Senior Secondary Education). Since its inception, the Directorate has become a role model for the promotion of Higher Education in the entire National Capital Territory (NCT) region. The Department has so far taken several steps for promoting higher education in the state. It has established several institutes of excellence including Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University and twenty-eight Govt. sponsored colleges. The Directorate has launched various schemes for students including scholarships, coaching facilities and sports facilities. The Directorate of Higher Education dreams in the coming years of imparting quality college education to the younger generation of the NCT region.

The Karnataka Information Technology Services (KITS) was established during 2000 as a Society under the Karnataka Societies Registration Act to achieve the objectives contained in the Millennium Information Technology Policy. It plays a significant role in the growth and development of knowledge based industries in the State. This organization helps the Department of Information Technology and Biotechnology in facilitating and promoting the Information Technology and Biotech sectors in the state by organizing as well as participating in Road shows, Trade shows, Conferences, Symposia, Seminars held at National and International levels. This enables to project the State and its potential for investments, implementation of its policies and programmes, assisting industries in getting quick clearances, administering incentives and concessions announced in state policies, etc. Vide Govt. Order No.ITD 02 PRM 2001, dated.19.09.2001. Karnataka Information Technology Services has been renamed as"Karnataka Biotechnology and Information Technology Services (KBITS)".

Kerala State Information Technology Mission (KSITM) is a Society registered under the Travancore Cochin Literary Scientific & Charitable Societies Registration Act (Act 12 of 1955). It is an autonomous nodal IT implementation agency for Department of Information Technology, Government of Kerala which provides managerial support to various initiatives of the Department.

KSITM's primary responsibilities include interfacing between the Government and the industry, interacting with potential investors, strengthening the IT / ITES industry base, holding promotional campaigns for hard selling the state, ICT dissemination to bridge the digital divide, E- Governance, Developing Human Resources for IT & ITES and advising the Government on policy matters.

Kerala State IT Mission is a team of professionals from the industry and the Government and is headed by the Director, with the Secretary-IT as the Chairman. The Governing body of KSITM is chaired by the Hon’ble Minister for Information Technology, Government of Kerala.

Technopark, Trivandrum: Technopark, Trivandrum, an autonomous society promoted by the Government of Kerala, is India's first technology park and among the three largest IT parks in India today. This is the first CMMI Level 5 assessed Technology Park. Infopark, Kochi: Infopark Kochi is located in 100.86 acres of land at Kakkanad village, Kanayannur Taluk, Ernakulam district. Around 80 acres has been notified as an IT sector Specific Economic Zone by Ministry of Commerce, Government of India. It offers IT companies a choice of office space solutions to fit their requirement and budget.
