The value of using ICT in the schools and educational institutes is best realised when appropriate content is developed and used to enhance and support learning, teaching, administration and management. This involves the production and consumption of local, relevant and appropriate education content through multimedia application of ICT. This session will try for a careful analysis of the current context of content that countries find themselves in and will outline the key issues that need to be addressed together in the area with proposed methods of doing so. Further discussions will be on-
- Content Generation Process: ICT as a subject - ICT across curriculum, best Practices
- Quality, Costs and Availability, who will create the content
- Are there any minimum standards of compliance for content generation and delivery?
- Is the content developed on user's needs analysis?
- Is the content revisable with changing times-not continue with outdated systems?
- Is there a feedback mechanism for modification according to user demands?
- Content Management: Standard procedures and guidelines (Who-What-How), regulatory authority
Digital Content Development, skills needed for developing digital content, methods for developing collaborative learning material and based on Instructional Design
- How to access pre-existing information and communications technology learning material, best practices for distribution of this material
- The benefits and skills needed to build consortia with other learning institutions, share learning material, and technology. Benefits and methods of creating partnerships with the private sector
- Linked to state-wide taught curriculum: schools, teachers, professional development
