e-Readiness of Higher Education: Challenges and the Way Forward
ICTs are emerging as a part of on-campus delivery as well as open and distance modalities of higher education delivery. ICTs in higher education are being used for developing course material; delivering content and sharing content; communication between learners, teachers and the outside world; creation and delivery of presentations and lectures; academic research; administrative support, student enrolment, etc. This session on Higher Education, while looking into the future perspectives of usages of ICT in the sector, will discuss and address the following issues.
  • The preparedness of universities and educational institutions towards ICT and Education
  • The strategies and outreach of ICT for Education initiatives by Universities and other higher education institutes.
  • Different case studies
  • Staff and learning community development, learners’ use of and exposure to ICTs
  • ICT and education delivery scenarios
  • Different research model and instruments, the different learning settings with changing demands, choices, flexibility
